FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER: TOP PICKS AT SEPHORA 2024
There are a million foundation and concealers out there. I’ve done a lot of recon for you! Here are my go-to primers, tints, foundations and concealers with a range of coverage and finishes . The best of best at Sephora! If it says “NEW” in the title, it is a new favorite that hasn’t been on the list before.
MILK MAKEUP
PORE ECLIPSE PRIMER
A tiny bit applied in a thin layer anywhere that you get oily can be quite helpful, such as your nose, chin, between brows. You can also apply it on your whole face if needed, but if that is the case, I would be more precise in your skincare routine and foundation choice to ensure you are choosing the right products to keep oil at bay.

HYDROGRIP PRIMER
This is ideal if you are a person whose foundation doesn’t last or disappear. The ultimate grip. Ideal for normally to dry. Apply ONE pump and let dry for 60 seconds. Then stipple foundation on.
GLOW RECIPE
DEW DROPS
I LOVE these. I use it every day for additional glow and hydration under my foundation. The glow isn’t shimmery, it’s more of a soft glaze that looks gorgeous solo or under your favorite foundation. These work for all skin types and have worked great with my acne-prone skin.

Picture the vibes of Glowscreen without SPF, WITH more hydration. Pearly, dewy glow. Beautiful alone or under makeup.

If you mixed Face Glaze original with a few drops of Drunk Elephant, this would be the baby. Pretty bronzey glow, without SPF and can be worn solo or under foundation. If you are super fair this may not be your vibe.

Shake the hell out of these before you use them! Really gorgeous to add a few drops to your foundation for a sunny glow.
ROSE INC
TINTED SERUM
This is kind of a wild product. It has almost zero coverage. It has a gel consistency and sinks right into the skin. No creasing. Your skin looks like your skin, but better. I’m so obsessed with it for days off, or as a base layer. If I apply this and want more coverage in certain areas, I will add more coverage to those spots only and let this do its thing for the rest of my face. Beautiful for all skin types, though oily peeps may need to be set with powder. I wear shade 60.
SUPERGOOP! - NEW
PROTEC(TINT)
SPF 50 skin tint with a natural finish and sheer coverage. This is nice for all skin types. I wear 24N. I personally still wear SPF underneath and Glowscreen under this is stunninggggg!
CHARLOTTE TILBURY
FLAWLESS FILTER
I love her. This is technically in the liquid highlighter family, but she has coverage. A gorgeous sheen, but still not glittery. More coverage than Rose Inc, you could use this product as a foundation (it will be sheer), you could mix it with your foundation to add glow, or add on high points as a liquid highlighter after your foundation of choice. Also comes in a mini if you are on the fence. Yes, I have tried the Elf dupe, and I don’t care what anyone says, this is better. I use shade 2 to highlight and 4 when I wear alone as a foundation.
TOWER 28
SUNNYDAYS TINTED SPF SUNSCREEN
I love this tinted moisturizer for sensitive skin, it gives a natural finish so not too dewy and a good one if you are acne prone as it has no pore clogging ingredients! I wear shade 20 and sometimes 25 when I have a bit more color.
HOURGLASS - NEW
VEIL SKIN TINT
This is a creamy, juicy skin tint. Ideal for normal to dry. Sheer, buildable. Close to the texture of my beloved Lancome Skin Feels Good, but a TINY bit less coverage and a better shade range. I wear shade 9.
GIORGIO ARMANI
LUMINOUS SILK
Le sigh. She is a goddess. A natural finish and sheer-medium buildable coverage. Luxury beauty, so she’s a little pricey but absolutely stunning. Always a good option. I wear the shade 6.5 which is a little darker than I am, but I’m into it.
SHISEIDO
SKIN GLOW FOUNDATION SPF 30
This is a medium coverage foundation that feels very lightweight. It’s got SPF 30, glowy and gorge for when you want more than tinted moisturizer. I wear shade 320. Ideal for everyone except oily.
HAUS LABS
TRICLONE SKIN MEDIUM COVERAGE FOUNDATION
A very medium coverage foundation. I think best for dry to combo. The texture reminds me of Luminous Silk (so velvety!) but with more coverage. I find that it runs dark, so you may want to get a shade lighter than you think you need. I wear shade 175. I recommend for combo to dry.
PRADA - NEW
FOUNDATION
This is a gorgeous medium coverage foundation that gives a soft matte finish. Ideal for combo to oily skin. If you are more dry use a hydrating primer. A little goes a long way. I wear shade MN45.
FENTY BEAUTY
EAZE DROP STICK BLURRING FOUNDATION
Love this for on the go! I really never cared for the eaze drops, but the stick version is so great! Quick effortless coverage that works for all skin types! Medium coverage. I wear shade 7. Good for all skin types, but I think best for normal/combo.
PATRICK TA
CREAM FOUNDATION
Effing adore this foundation. The only cream on the list. Perfect if you prefer cream, do your makeup on the go, travel a lot, or just like the idea of a compact. A little goes a long way and it’s medium in coverage. I like to apply with a brush (the Sephora Collection 56 brush to be exact) and it includes a pressed powder to set. I like the powder to set your t-zone, but don’t recommend it for under the eyes. I wear the shade Light Medium 3. Good for normal to dry.
ONE/SIZE
BBB CREAM
This is my favorite medium coverage for normal to oily. You can sheer out the coverage or really build it up. Gives a matte finish and fab if you are acne prone. I wear Medium N1.
IT COSMETICS
YOUR SKIN BUT BUTTER CC CREAM
I HATE this foundation for all over. BUT in small concentrated amounts it’s helpful to cover melasma, rosacea or anything that requires fuller coverage. Stipple on. More hydrating than Estee Lauder Double Wear. I wear light medium neutral.
ESTEE LAUDER
DOUBLE WEAR
Incredible. A classic. Sheer coverage, matte finish, but somehow doesn’t make you look like the hag from Tangled IF you use a small amount sparingly. You can stipple on top of a sheer foundation for added coverage, you can mix it with moisturizer to sheer it out. It’s long wearing and photographs well. Good for normal to oily. If you want to wear and are dry, definitely pick up the Dew Drops above to add a hydrating base. I wear the shade 3W1.
BOBBI BROWN
CORRECTOR STICK
An OMG product. It is a cream so it really doesn’t crease. It’s technically a corrector, not a concealer, yet somehow I don’t typically feel you need more concealer with it. It brightens dark circles and is fab for medium concealer coverage. I wear the shade Light Bisque.
LAURA MERCIER - NEW
SERUM CONCEALER
I wear 2C1. This is the sheerest concealer I recommend. Juicy serum consistency which is great if your under eyes are dry.
KULFI
CONCEALER
Don’t sleep on this brand. Full coverage, yet creamy and beautiful. I use a little and blend it out and don’t have issues with creasing. It’s what Shape Tape wants to be when it grows up. LOL. I wear the shade Bad Badaam.
DIOR
FOREVER SKIN FULL-COVERAGE CONCEALER
I don’t love this for the underye, but it’s one of my fave to conceal blemishes, or melasma because it is really longlasting. When I use it for the face, it needs to be similar to your foundation color. I use shade 3.5.
NATASHA DENONA
HY-GLAM CONCEALER
I love these in the corrector version only. They are higher coverage than Bobbi Brown, and I think better for combo to oily peeps. I personally love shade R2.
TOWER 28
HYDRATING SERUM CONCEALER
Medium-full coverage. This is more coverage than Kulfi and incredible for over 40 IF you are not dry. A little goes a long way. I am the shade 4.0 DTLA.
KOSAS
CREAMY AND BRIGHTENING CONCEALER
Mario who? This is THE OG brightening concealer and a clean beauty fave. It has a wide array of shades and you also only need a bit. I would say this is more coverage than Kulfi, less than Tower 28. I like mine really light. I wear shade 2.5C.
BARE MINERALS
LOOSE POWDER CONCEALER SPF 20
If you every do your concealer and feel like you need just a touch more coverage, and also want to set the area, this is great! Also, if you prefer powder vs. liquid concealer this is the only game in town. I wear shade 20 Bisque.
