I WISH I DID THIS SOONER...
I regret not doing this sooner as a freelance MUA, so let's jump right in. You don't have to be a big time influencer to make commission off of the links you share. How many times has a client asked you, “I love this foundation! What did you use? What color is that?” What if you said, “I'll send you the link and shade right now!” You are saving them time, by not looking up the product themselves. You saved them the agony of choosing their shade. Get paid for it! I'm not saying you need to turn into a sales shark, but when the opportunity genuinely presents itself, they are happy and grateful to shop your link!
THINK IT ISN’T WORTH IT?
The average link will yield 10% in commission. Think about your client interactions. Every single one, loves at least one thing you put on their face, and asks you about it. I touched 500 faces last year x $40 average product = $20,000 sales. 10% of that is $2000 that could be easily added to your pocket. That is on the low side. You could occasionally share things you love on social or imagine if you did an entire makeup lesson? Below are the places I would suggest you apply. Don't get discouraged if you don't get accepted right away. I got declined from 2 out of the 3, and had to apply again in 3 months. If that happens, my advice is: Ensure you are posting your clients on social especially your main feed as opposed to just stories. List out the products you use and tag the brands. That will help your chances. You don't have to be a content creator. I got approved before I ever made a video.
